The original painting is 40 inches wide and 20 inches high. This was a complex painting because of the number of characters, which needed alot of detail. Even at this size some of the faces were smaller then a quarter. This was still a joy to paint because of the challenge. The guys and gals at Sony Entertainment group were a pleasure to work with, and Larry had the pleasure of meeting many of them at San Diego Comic Con. 
The client for this painting wanted me to paint the climatic scene from the book Eragon. When he told me this I nearly panicked, because in my mind I had to get fifteen seconds of action into one frame. After many preliminary drawings, we both agreed on something we liked. These are some of the pictures I took to show the step by step process from start to finish. It took over two months and was completed in December 2007.
