Where have all the dragons gone

Where have all the dragons gone,
what is this place to which they were drawn.
Gone are they from the cloudy skies,
no longer do they soar over seas sunrise.
Forests once magically alive left empty,
the magic left unknown to all humanity.
Not even a glimpse was ever caught,
and soon the dragons will be forgot.
Our memories of them must we cherrish,
or else they shall forever perish.
In all the secret places in all the world,
into these were the dragons hurled.
If only they were not lost forever,
to someday be found now or ever.
Perhaps this day soon will come,
then again we’ll hear the dragon’s hum.
When finally to this realm again are they drawn,
we shall learn where have all the dragons gone.
